New XC Race Series Coming to New England (and it looks legit)

By

A new cross-country (XC) race series, Race Day XC, is set to launch in New England, led by event director John Day. Known for his extensive experience in race promotion, Day is now turning his attention to the region’s XC mountain biking scene.

John Day’s background includes founding the successful J Day Off Road Series, which grew to become one of the most prominent race series in the world, with tens of thousands of participants and spectators over its 10-year run. After selling that series in 2021, Day is now looking to bring the same level of professional organization to XC mountain biking.

In a statement, Day explained his vision for Race Day XC, citing the Northeast’s natural terrain as an ideal setting for a high-caliber series. “We have mountains, some of the best forest cover in the USA, and thousands of mountain bike racers,” Day said. “The only thing missing is a professional organization to pull it all together.”

Details on specific race locations and dates are expected to be released soon. Day emphasized that he’s eager to meet participants at the upcoming events as he prepares for this new chapter in his race-promotion career.
